Cloisonné enameled coper colored tea box with lid 'shield' small

A fabulous little tea jar in deep metallic brown, green and white cloisonné with copper details by Paris based artist Fabienne Jouvin. 

The cloisonné is made by the ancient technique for metal decorating, where the copper compartments are first added to the jar by fixing the thin copper strips on the jar’s edges. Then the jar is covered with enamel powder  paste and fired in a kiln, resulting in colored compartments with vitreous enamel. The copper remains visible in the finished piece and separates the different compartments.
