Cloisonné tall tea jar - Serene yellow

Beautiful Cloisonné designed by Xueying Qi. An eye-catcher in itself, but even more beautiful in combination with other sizes or other colours. Beautiful with the lid on, but you could also use it as a narrow tall vase when you remove the lid.

The cloisonné is made by the ancient technique for metal decorating, where the copper compartments are first added to the jar by fixing the thin copper strips on the jar’s edges. Then the jar is covered with enamel powder  paste and fired in a kiln, resulting in colored compartments with vitreous enamel. The copper remains visible in the finished piece and separates the different compartments.
